[00212] Optimal control for a SIR epidemic model with limited quarantine

  • Session Time & Room : 5B (Aug.25, 10:40-12:20) @A201
  • Type : Contributed Talk
  • Abstract : Social distance and total lock-downs are interventions that have been used to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus. However, these measures could be harmful to societies in terms of social and economic costs. Using optimal control tools and numerical computations we investigate the optimal strategies that minimize the impact of an epidemic, by studying the conditions for an optimal control of a Susceptible-Infected-Recovered model.
